Can I read about your B&B in my native language?
We are located in Bloubergstrand, a crime-free safe tranquil sea
side village on the Atlantic coast of the Cape Town metropole.
How far is that from Cape Town
centre?
We are about 14 km from Cape Town city centre / Victoria and Albert Waterfront.
This translates to roughly 25 minutes coastal drive.
How far are
you from the Wine Route?
We are about 45 minutes from the Wine Route.
Is
your B&B located in a good position to explore all of Cape Town?
Yes. We are quite central for the Wine Route, Southern Suburbs, Table Mountain,
False Bay and the West Coast.
Is Bloubergstrand really safe?
We like to think it is. Bloubergstrand is one of the safest and most upmarket
suburbs in Cape Town.
No area can ever be totally crime free but our area is truly one of low crime.
What can one do in
Bloubergstrand?
Bloubergstrand has a number of fine restaurants ranging from Chinese, to
sea-food to Italian cuisine.
There are many beautiful beaches in Bloubergstrand. You can view them by taking
a peek at our gallery.
Bloubergstrand beach is the beach where postcard companies take pictures of
Table Mountain.
What does Bloubergstrand mean?
It means Blue-mountain-beach in Afrikaans. The name refers to the blueish
mountain (it appears blue to sailors at sea) north of us, and not to Table
Mountain
which itself makes a awesome sight.
Waterports?
Our beaches are excellent for surfing or windsurfing. There are places where you
can rent wetsuits and boards from.
Is there malaria in the Cape?
No, malaria is a tropical parasitic disease and does not exist in the
Cape climate. Prophylaxis is not necessary.
Is there a bank and foreign exchange nearby?
Yes, there is, about 1 km along the coast towards Cape Town in the suburb of
Table View.
The beach images in your gallery, where were they taken?
We took the pics ourselves just 5 minutes walk from our door.
Please send me your printed brochure to this address.
Unfortunately we cannot comply with this request as we use our internet website
as our brochure.
Transport. Is there a bus service I could use to get to Cape
Town from Gull?
Yes there is. However public transport is very unreliable for the purpose of
touring.
Transport. Is there a transfer service we could use to get to Gull?
Yes. We can arrange one for you for about R100 ZAR through a third party or you
can make use of a taxi/shuttle service available
at the airport. These are usually slightly more expensive.
What is the best way to travel around Cape Town?
The best way is to rent a car at the airport. Cape Town Int'l
has most of the local and international agencies' bureaus.
Can a car be rented from Gull?
We do not rent cars ourselves but most rental agencies will deliver the car to
us, either for free or for a nominal charge.
Please email us telling us so. Please also provide us with your
date and time of arrival as well as the date of departure. We would also
appreciate a
Flight Plan if you are flying into Cape Town and just before staying with us.
What else do I need to make a booking?
Sometimes, we may ask you to place a deposit of 25% of the total value of
the stay. Occasionally we may ask for a credit card number.
This is especially so for the more popular periods of the year. We do regret the
inconvenience this incurs.
Do you accept credit cards?
Sorry currently we do not.
Do you accept children?
We do, however we may possibly need to make special arrangements if you have
kids under 6. Please let us know if you fit in this category.
Do you accept pets?
Sorry, we cannot cater for pets at this time, unless the pet is a
Tamagotchi :).
Do you allow Smoking?
We only permit smoking outside - patio, garden or balcony. We regret the
inconvenience.
What does "en suite" mean?
It means that the bathroom is connected internally to the bedroom. The bathroom
is for the guests' private use only.
Can I read about your B&B in my native language?
Yes of course, as long as it is one of the ones we have a page for.
